Broad databases, covering a wide variety of topics, are useful for interdisplinary research. These databases are a good place to begin your search on most topics.
A large, multidisciplinary database, Web of Knowledge provides access to bibliographic information, author abstracts, and cited references from scholarly journals and conference proceedings. The database allows cited reference searching, results analysis, citation mapping, and the creation of citation reports. A cited reference search enables you to find articles that cite a previously published work.
Keyword mapping tools can be useful when exploring a new topic. Try using this for discovering new keywords or for broadening or narrowing your search.
Tips for better search results using Boolean or Advanced Searches
